A LS1 fits into the motor compartment very well. There is a lot more room in the engine compartment than there is in a S-10 (I have one powered by a LS1). My truck will be pretty radical, with a 600+hp 427ci LS1, but the same components will work with a stock LS1. I am installing a T56 6 speed trans along with the engine.
